A love for the outdoors and sharp wit led Peter into a sales career focusing on the Outdoor & Leisure market until some 12 years ago when the tourism industry came calling. Before too long Peter was loving life behind the wheel, entertaining guests from all over the world on Australia’s East Coast and as far afield as Eastern Europe on extended tours. Always with an eye on doing things better, Peter gained experience in various Management roles and enjoys calling the shots to this very day.
Founder and CEO
Paul Beames is the Founder and CEO of the Get Lost Travel Group.
Paul studied Business and Tourism at the University of Western Ontario, and Victoria University. Paul went on to work as a tour guide/driver for Adventure Tours Australia and Top Deck Tours throughout 14 different European countries.
Paul is passionate about tourism and through extensive experience gained in the field, he saw an opportunity for providing more unique quality travel experiences and decided to start his own company in 2009, founding Get Lost Travel.
In 2014 Paul was awarded In Len Taylor Young ATEC Award for Leadership in Tourism.
Paul now also serves as the Vice Chair of the Australian Tourism Export Council -Victoria branch.
Paul is a passionate, serial entrepreneur and employs more than 70 fine tourism industry professionals through the Get Lost Travel Group network. Paul is committed to constantly learning, and the continuous development of an eco-friendly, sustainable tourism industry. His always on the lookout for innovations as well as people with new ideas and opportunities.
After working for many years in various sales roles, Craig started working with Raw Travel in a part time sales/ tour guiding role. He developed a love for Victoria’s fine Pinot’s whilst running winery tours, and Victoria’s wild coastline whilst hosting tours along the Great Ocean Walk. In 2011 Craig started with Wildlife Tours then in 2012 helped to launch the new Café Bus Winery Tours brand. As Marketing Director of the Get Lost Travel Group, Craig has helped to build a marketing strategy based around building strong industry relationships and developing unique and innovative products.
Assistant Operations Manager
A love of travel led Vicky to study Tourism & Outdoor Recreation Leadership. Positions in Field Operations & Outdoor Education Leadership took her to all corners of Victoria working with school children through to corporate groups.
In 2005 her sense of adventure took her to Central Australia becoming an Outback Tour Guide, beginning a 10-year odyssey of touring throughout Australia.
Vicky gained extensive experience guiding for Wayward Bus, Adventure Tours Australia, Oz Experience, Topdeck Travel & Under Down Under Tours until finally arriving back in Melbourne bringing her wealth of knowledge & experience to Wildlife Tours Australia, first as a guide, then in January 2016 becoming Assistant Operations Manager for The Get Lost Travel Group.
I come from country Victoria and have been with the Get Lost Travel Group since day 1 when we were a much smaller operation. I am married with three adult children and two grand-children. I have an interest in farming and outdoor activities. I love travelling around Australia and catching up with friends. Cycling and swimming are my main hobbies although I have been known to dabble in bookkeeping and fishing. My role with the Get Lost Group can be varied from assisting accounts to driving charters, doing rescue missions, assisting organise charters, and helping with operations.
Aino came to Australia in 2011 to complete her tourism studies back in Finland. Little did she know that she would fall in love with the country (and her boss!) and move here permanently. Aino has been part of the Get Lost family for many years and seen this once small family business grow into one of the biggest tour operators in the Country. Although she has moved between many admin roles in the office, most of her time has been in the reservations department. Last year Aino moved to the accounts department to learn a different side of the business.
Rupa came to Melbourne form Kathmandu Nepal. Passionate about learning new things, the move to Melbourne was a good fit.
She studied Masters in Business Administration at Tribhuwan University Nepal, and completed Bachelor in Accounting at Kaplan Business School Melbourne.
With Accounting background, she started working with Wildlife Tours in 2011 as a part time bookkeeper. At the end of July 2014, she started her current role as a company Accountant.
She felt proud to be a member of Get Lost Travel Group.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family.
Originally from the other side of the border in Beachport, South Australia; Sean grew up with a passion for all things mechanical, the outdoors and the coast in particular. After travelling around the world with extended stays in the USA, UK and Germany, Sean left a career in Warehousing and Logistics Management for tourism in becoming Melbourne Branch Manager at Travellers Autobarn. Life on the road came calling a few years later when he couldn’t resist the opportunity to join the team at Get Lost Travel as a Tour Guide and Representative for the Autopia brand, pioneering the Adelaide – Melbourne 2 day route before joining the management team in 2015 in charge of the Operations & Fleet department, where he’s often found inside, on top of or underneath buses, in one of two offices, or generally working to improve the day to day operations of the company. In his down time you’ll find him working on a project car, practising his German and Italian, planning the next Smythesdale Superfest or enjoying a beer with his partner Silvia and his mates!!!
Reservations Travel Specialist
Lizzie has lived and worked in about 7 different countries round the world, and been a tour guide in three of them (Scotland, Canada and Australia, as you asked). She has a BA Honours in Performance, a love of history and is fully qualified in generally acting like a big kid.
Although now in the office she will never lose the passion and excitement for travel. She loves to go above and beyond for customers and her colleagues and will usually be found walking her dog when not at work.
MTB Adventures Manager / Sales & Marketing
Growing up in the bush on the family farm in the top North-West corner of Victoria, Ben has a passion for the outdoors and the diverse variety of environments Victoria has to offer. Joining the GLT family in 2013 as a tour guide fresh from a corporate setting, he immediately felt at home with his new career and workplace. Taking two months off to ride his bicycle from coast to coast of the US in 2014, his return saw the development of MTB Adventures, taking the first tour in April 2015. Often found doing wheelies on his mountain bike… Somewhere.
Travel Agent Manager
Marilou is from the Netherlands. She started working for Get Lost Travel Group three years ago as an intern. She then went back to the Netherlands to finish her study and obtained a bachelor’s degree in International Tourism Management and Consultancy. One of her biggest passions was travelling. After a bit of travelling and gaining experience in working in the travel industry in the Netherlands, she could not stay away from Australia much longer. Luckily the Get Lost Travel Group could sponsor her and she was able to come back. She is now fulfilling the role of reservations travel manager and is loving every minute of being back and working with the Get Lost Travel family.
Our City Store Manager
Originally from India, Amar landed in Melbourne in 2003 as a student to pursue his degree in Engineering. He worked part time as a student in Hospitality and Tourism Industry. Even though he studied to be an Engineer, his love for Hospitality and Tourism Industry saw him work in various different roles in the industry such as Hotel/hostel manager, travel desk manager to name a few. He started to work with Get Lost Travel Group since September 2015 as one of the Senior Reservations Staff member. From May 2017, taken up the responsibility as our City Store Manager located on Flinders Street. Loves travel and interaction with people, an ardent fan of cricket, AFL, F1 (any sport to be honest). His love for spicy food even made some of the industry friends call him “Chilli Curry” (instead of his family name Chillakuru).
Sales and Marketing Manager
With a corporate sales and mining background the tourism industry found Jared in 2010 and he has been a legend ever since.
Starting with a tough year as a guide in central Australia.
Upon leaving the company he was the first inductee to their Hall of Fame.
These days with 4 years under the GLT Group, Jared loves the personalities of the industry and the marketing freedom he is given to make them smile.
Often found walking the streets of Melbourne with his red poodle Harry, visiting the amazing industry people of the number one city in the world.
Reservations Travel Specialist
Coming to Melbourne from the beautiful Canton city 10 years ago to study Hospitality and Tourism, I developed a passion for the industry and of course the wondrous City of Melbourne. Working in the hospitality sector for the last 9 years and gaining experience in hostels and hostel management, it was time to explore the tourism industry and so I recently joined the Get Lost Group as a Reservations Guru. When not at work, you can most likely find me cooking up a storm at home, or exploring Melbourne’s endless Restaurants. The coastal diversity of the Mornington Peninsula is one of my favourite destinations in Victoria. Oh, before we finish this, I can speak both Mandarin and Cantonese.
Melbourne Bus Charters Manager
Growing up in South East Melbourne, Adam has developed a strong passion for Sports and Travelling.
Adam floated around a few jobs mixed in with a bit of travelling before finding his feet in the Tourism Industry in Central Australia. After a year doing his best Russell Coight impersonation around the outback, he started with GLT in October 2014 as a Tour Guide. At the end of February 2017, Adam commenced his current role as manager of Melbourne Bus Charters.
When he isn’t at work, he is passionately supporting the St Kilda Football Club and planning his next overseas adventure.
Search Engine Marketing and Webmaster
Victor Ohiaegbunam is a Melbourne based Search Engine Marketer and Web Developer. He has been doing this for the past 8 years.
Before devoting his full time to Search Engine Marketing and websites, Victor studied Oil and Gas Engineering in Nigeria between 2002 and 2007. In 2007 he went to Malaysia to study Computer Science and IT which he always wanted to do.
He started computer programming in 2006 but later went into web applications and SEM in 2009.
After His arrival in Australia in 2010, He engaged in software development freelancing and gained a 2 years’ experience in the logistics and supply chain industry by working for the Woolworths Supply Chain Department.
Victor currently is a webmaster and Search Engine Marketer for a few Melbourne based businesses including Get Lost Travel Group in Williamstwon North.
